Family Gotown were signed about two years premature of the whole Britpop
era, touring and recording solidly for about 18 months. Despite two of
our singles managing minor dents on the UK chart, the LP that we made
for Phonogram went unreleased.
Although nearly all of our recordings were whole-band compositions, usually
one of the five of us would come to the others with the bulk of ideas
for the melody, structure and feel of a new song already written. The
tracks below were those on which I was the major contributor.
